The BWTS spares we are asked for most
In service, the same items keep coming back: filter elements and backflush valves fouling, UV quartz sleeves losing transmission, UV intensity sensors drifting, TRO/pH sensors ageing, and control panels faulting after voltage events. Because a non-compliant ballast system stops the vessel from ballasting, these are availability problems, not maintenance items — most of our BWTS enquiries are urgent.
We supply spares for the systems installed on Chinese-built tonnage (Headway is the most common in our maker list) and can cross-reference equivalent sensors and sleeves where the original is out of stock, stating clearly what the equivalent is and what documentation it carries.
How to get the right sensor the first time
Send the system maker and model, the tag or position number, the sensor part number from the manual, and a photo of the nameplate. For UV reactors, the reactor serial and lamp type matter more than the vessel name; for TRO cells, the measuring range matters. With those three items we usually confirm availability the same day.
Class and compliance documents
BWTS spares commonly need to satisfy the class society that approved the system. We quote with the documentation path stated up front — manufacturer certificate, class certificate (CCS/ABS/BV/DNV) where applicable, and test records for pressure and electrical items.

Frequently asked questions
Can you supply spares for systems other than Headway?
Yes. Headway is the most frequent in our maker list, but we also source for other UV and electrochlorination systems by part number and nameplate data.
Are UV lamps and quartz sleeves stocked?
Frequently requested lamp types and sleeves are held as buffer stock; less common ratings are made to order, typically within a few weeks. We will always state the real date rather than a hopeful one.
Do BWTS spares need class certificates?
It depends on the item and on the flag/class requirement. We state in the quotation which documents the item will carry, so you can decide before ordering.
